The Denim Trend

Tis the season to get together with friends, family, eat, and shop (small preferably…and here). Teehee…

If dressing up for this season’s get togethers is a stressful task for you, you will be happy to know this is also the season when dressing up your casuals is considered trendy. One item in particular that is making a fierce comeback in a fancier way is DENIM! It was seen all over the major runways, a particular stand out being Miu Miu showcasing a full denim collection on the Paris Fashion Week runway. Denim being worn in unconventional ways, meaning not just your favorite pair of blue jeans, is quite a trend this season.

I own denim shirts galore so this season,  when searching for the perfect denim piece to add to the SO edit, I fell in love with this denim trench vest. It’s a newer concept, yet not so out there that women won’t know how to wear it.

The versatility of taking it from casual to dressy is simple. Because casual comes easier to most, I decided to demo how I wear mine in a dressier way.

Layered Under:

  • Long black fitted tunic tank, a basic all women should own.
  • Burgundy Tights, for a pop of color.

  • Burgundy Floppy Hat (one of my FAVES this season).
  • Gold Chocker (I wear mine EVERY DAY)
  • Over the knew black suede boots (you NEED an OTK pair of boots always).

Pretty simple right?! So have some fun with layering and try the denim trend in a non traditional way. It’s easy to wear denim pants, BUT, challenge your style and try pulling together a look that is 75% denim and NOT in the pants.
